This was the page on EBay when I bought the car.  I did NOT write any of the description. Just saving it to read later and laugh at

the seller's overactive sales pitch.

1969 OLDS CUTLASS 455 BIG BLOCK * AWESOME CONVERTIBLE

HURST DUAL GATE SHIFTER

The car offered here is a beautiful 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible. If only this car could talk! It is not as new, however, it will be a star on any street or any show. It is just as lively, appealing, and vibrant as the day it was born 40 years ago. It has survived the misuse so common with muscle cars. It sits up proud and is completely ready to enjoy.

There were just 906 Hurst/Olds produced in 1969. Life for these cars began as a personal car for George H. Hurst, President of Hurst/Campbill Inc. Like so many “special” cars, a lot of people have re-manufactured these cars to perform and look like the real McCoy. Often times, these cars are better than the originals. In any event, the car offered here is a real brute, a caged animal waiting to spring loose at your local stop light. Its bare chested and ready for action.

The Hurst Olds options include Hurst Dual Gate floor mounted shifter, rear deck spoiler, turbo hydomatic 400 transmission, W/27 cover, trumpet tail pipes and Edelbrock intake manifold.

You will like what you see when you open the hood. The monster engine just begs to be driven. The block number is 396021/F. There are no surprises here. Just touch the gas pedal and feel the power. The whole compartment was professionally detailed. It is finished in blitz black and classic white.

Settle into the cockpit and enjoy the ride. The whole interior is a pleasure to look at, even up close. The back seat and surrounding areas look like new. Every seam, seat backs and even the seat belts look untouched. It is a very refreshing look. There are no areas that need attention. The interior LOOKS RIGHT, SITS RIGHT and IS RIGHT! Most vintage cars glove boxes are missing or badly deteriorated. This one is very nice and well taken care of. The sun visors and dash are in excellent condition. There are no cracks or worn areas.

Go as fast a you like or rumble through city streets and watch people stop in their tracks. This car is an awesome ride. This car is a strong runner with lots of power! The exhaust has a wonderful sound - sort of like distant thunder.

MARK’S CORNER
In times like these what better place to put your money. It is exciting to watch your money grow as the availability of classic cars is depleted. Knowledgeable investors like Jay Leno are scrambling to increase their holdings. These treasured works of art are the best place to put your money. The wonderful world of classic automobiles – something you can look at, touch, brag about, listen to, drive and watch as your investment curve increases.

The exterior is straight down the sides. The hood scoops and rear spoiler are exciting to look at. With the top up or down, the car seems to be in motion, even when standing still. The top looks new, it is manual but goes up and down easily. The boot fits very well.

The front bumper is not dented however, it does have some cracks in the center. The front brakes are disc. There is a rear sway bar.

Don’t miss your opportunity to own this classic automobile. Thank you for being part of our auctions. Live long and be happy.

Our reserves are always lower than current market value. We take pride in our ability to find and sell vehicles at reasonable prices.

We strive to offer quality vehicles. Our low reserves reflect years of providing value to our customers. Our buyers are always searching for classic vehicles that represent the best possible value. BEFORE BIDDING PLEASE READ ABOUT US AND OUR POLICIES.

Oftentimes I'm asked about the roadworthiness of a vehicle. It is difficult to give an answer. EVERYONE LOOKS AT VEHICLES THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES. Even experienced buyers do not see things you might see. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO LOOK BEFORE YOU BID. Classic vehicles are today’s best investments in my opinion.

Keep in mind these vehicles need attention, they need to be tweaked and time needs to be spent in order to know their strengths and weaknesses. My suggestion is to get familiar with your classic car. You purchased an old vehicle to experience motoring FROM THAT ERA. These classics are much different than today’s modern vehicles. Wear and tear is a part of all used vehicles. Age, road conditions, maintenance and pride of previous owners are all part of a vehicles condition. We are experienced buyers and do what we can to make your purchase a pleasant experience. All vehicles are sold where is as is .

We are a bonded, licensed Michigan dealer and have been in business for twenty years. We are not as “showy” as some because we want to sell QUALITY vehicles at COMPETITIVE prices. We are a father and son owned business and in for the long road. LIVE LONG AND HAVE FUN BIDDING .

We have provided as much information as we can to assist bidders. However, it is the responsibility of you as a buyer to check out the vehicle before bidding. You do not have the right to change your mind after the bidding has ended If you have questions or doubts or are unable to get funded please do not bid. Remember, if you win this auction, you won the vehicle.

Thank you for looking at our auctions. Many of you know us because of all the years we have been buying classic cars. Thank you for your support. Mark and Wayne and Jeannie

About Us:

It all started in 1949 when my dad bought a new Torpedo back Chevrolet. The option he was most proud of was an umbrella holder. What a CAR!! I remember Dad taking me to car show rooms and places like the Ford plant to look at cars. I was only eleven years old in 1949 but cars became my passion. Now my son shares my passion for cars and trucks, as does his son.
